While the installation process can be intimidating at first, DockMod, once installed, offers a number of powerful tools to alter how your dock looks and feels. You can change opacity, alter colorations, change the edging, add a deeper reflection, and change the gradients, effectively altering the full look and feel of your dock. The app, itself, has a slick interface showing the desktop options (and you can create multiple desktops or themes here). Removing DockMod later will be slightly more complicated than a standard app because of this, but the developers do a decent job of providing the necessary tools to streamline the process.

Installation for DockMod is a bit more complicated than a standard Mac app. While you can't completely remove the dock, you can greatly customize how it appears, even making it invisible if you so choose.
